e-resume.net review

e-resume.net review and discounts

A resume writing website with patchy design which, to be honest, doesn’t make it look stylish. They also claim that LA times call them “best of the bunch” and promise to prepare you for the interview better. A website also contains a plenty of career articles for those who decide to write a resume on their own and a process description for those who came to buy a resume. I belonged to the second group and wished to get my resume improved before I start applying for interesting positions.

Price policy

The company calls their prices fair…and yes, that’s true. A single resume is $119-245, depending on your career level. Interview tips are $30, cover letter is $50, and the next day service is additional $50. However, I wondered why they didn’t offer LinkedIn writing, which is very popular these days. For my resume, cover letter and thank you letter the approximate price was $220 (until it turned out there were some extra charges).

The writing process

To initiate the process, I emailed them my old resume and paid. They got in touch only three hours later, confirmed the receipt of the resume I sent and we scheduled a consultation. It was unusual to deal through the email; if the process worked through the site like on Cvresumewriters.com, it would be more convenient. Next day we had a short phone consultation to discuss the gaps in my resume. The writer asked the questions in a professional manner, however, it was obvious that he was in a rush and wanted to finish the conversation as soon as possible.

Quality of support and writing

There are two ways to get in touch with them: contact form and phone number. The phone number, however, didn’t work when I wanted to call them to ask about the delivery date. So, I had to send an email again. I was assured that I would get the first draft in 4 days and they kept the promise. I was supposed to review this draft and add my comments. Well…I loved the writing style in the resume, but it didn’t appeal to me that the writer presented me as a “jack of all trades”. I made corrections asking to be more specific and focus solely on the position I was going to apply.

Conclusion

Two days later I got the final copy. What can I say…? It was not bad, but not as perfect as I wanted.
